The terrain was first released as the unnamed underhive terrain within the Necromunda Boxed Game (1st Edition), and then later released separately as the Industrial Battlezone for the 2nd Edition.

Later, it was renamed and repackaged as the Hive World Battle Zone during the 3rd Edition to co-incide with Necromunda(2ndEdition) (a rulebook-only edition). Weirdly, the box is branded as both Warhammer 40k (with 3rd Edition logo) on the front and Necromunda (with the 2nd Edition logo) on the reverse.
